Quick Help: Charger or Superbee?
« on: March 21, 2007 - 02:44:27 AM »

I am wanting to know for a friend if this car is a Superbee or Charger? It's in Aussie and they're advertising as a Superbee yet the rear tail panel looks like it has a Charger badge and the VIN stats it as Coronet/Charger but?

:dunno: :clueless: :1zhelp:

Someone said they are called "Charger Superbees" I've never heard of that before?!?!
Maybe I should just stick to the best....E-Bodies.  :icon16:

M = Price Class: Medium
23 = Body Type: 2dr Hardtop
N = Engine: 383 300HP 1-4BBL 8 Cyl
1 = Year: 1971
A = Assembly Plant: Lynch Road, MI, USA
159453 = Sequence number: 59452th Vehicle

NZ,

Yes, that VIN shows that it is a 71 Dodge Superbee.  It's the only year that Dodge combined it with the Dodge Charger with the Superbee platform.  A total of 5054 were produced.

The M in the VIN shows that it is a Superbee.

A regular Charger would have been a P,  and a Charger R/T would have had an S.

For more info please check the following web site: www.71superbee.com

Thanks,
FY1

How many 440-6 Superbees were built in '71? I know of a car in my hometown that is an all original 440-6 '71 superbee with airgrabber hood, orange with black interior. Old guy bought it new, and will not sell.  :banghead:  Been asking him since I was about 14...lol.

Wow, I just checked your site, that car is RARE, one of 69 Auto...then how many of them are N96 cars? It may even be a 4spd, can't really remember.  :clueless:

Just got some details from my brother, car is Orange, white bench/armrest seats, column shift Auto, Air grabber hood, Dana 60 package. Thats why he didn't take the car when it came into the dealer, the Dana 60 (scat pack???) package was like an extra 600 bucks and he couldn't afford it, so he passed on teh car and bought it back years later from the guy who bought it new, car still has original paint.

Sorry to hijack carl..lol.   :crazy:
