What a weekend
« on: March 26, 2007 - 06:15:26 AM »
Started off the weekend doing a tranny filter change in the 66 Charger. So I went to parts store in the Challenger and got what I needed and came back home. While working on Charger I noticed something leaking under the Challenger. Popped the hood and noticed antifreeze leaking from around lower waterpump. I leaned over and grabbed lower hose off waterpump and hose came off. Hot antifeeze everywhere, when I put in new 340 I forgot to tighten hose all the way.  :pullinghair:Now I've driven this car at least ten times since motor install. Talk about being lucky, I let it cool down and tighten hose and refill and everythings fine. I spend the rest of Saturday and most of day Sunday stripping down a set of magnum 500's and repaint them. Hours of masking off wheels and polishing. Finally late Sunday I decide to go ahead and put back set on Charger after mounting some tires. I jack up car to take off the ugly hubcaps and WTH there are magnum 500's under the hubcaps. :scared: They are in decent shape. I have just spent hours of work and found I could have spent the time doing something else. Large amount of cussing and wife laughing at me.

old man, just so you know your not the only one with a screw loose, I spent Sat. assembling my front suspension and at the end of the day with it all torqued down & ready for brakes, exhausted sitting there staring at my work I'm contemplating what to do next when I realize the caliper mounts are on the wrong side of the axle, after a double check sure enough I have the spindles on the wrong sides.  :banghead:
BTW nice find on the magnums.   :smokin:

Well, after helping transport my friend's SAttelite rag top to my other buddy's exh shop, I moved my Neon into the bay with the lift...DId a clutch, front brakes, front struts, sway bar end links, and clutch cable. I then moved on to the fuel leak. I thought it was a small section of rubber hose. ('97, figure it was due, right?)  Well, It's the nipple on the output of the regulator, which is part of the fuel pump module, which is $287 at the dealer only... :banghead: Plus, the machine shop I've used for 9 years now is closing :bricks1:. So now I have to take tomorrow off to get the pump asembly, get my Neon running, go to exh shop and tow ragtop home for Buddy, and then drive out and talk to the new shop... :stomp:. I can't wait for next week. The past two have just plain stunk. :poopoke:
