fixing or replacing a door-ajar switch
« on: April 01, 2007 - 05:06:10 PM »
Wondering if my door ajar switch to the rear of the door is salvageable.  The collar is screwed into the door jamb and the center part is a completely loose thin nylon shaft with what appears to be threads on the end.  The center shaft can be slid out easily from the back.  What is it missing and if it isn't reparable, are there replacements out there?
Thanks,

Thanks for getting back on this.  Just for clarification, these are the switches that activate the "door ajar" light on the ceiling console.  They are different than the ones that control the dome light (and light buzzer).  It looks like I could use the normal (dome light) switch even though it has two pig-tail connectors, but they are clearly different switches, and I'm wondering about the spring tension and other issues with them that might be problems.
