Need Original Rallye Tach!
« on: March 27, 2007 - 11:47:44 PM »
Any recommendations on where might be the best place to get an original (restored preferred) rallye 8K tach.  The previous owner installed an Autolite tach and I can't stand how it looks with the other original gauges (see pix).  I know that RTE sells the kit to upgrade the electronics.  I know the repops have a different spacing in the numbers, especially in the 1K to 3K range.  So, I'd rather an original over repop.  But it would depend on the cost difference.

RT-engineering sells restored originals, and also sells the new reproduction tachs that Year One sells. The repro tachs are like 200, and the restored originals are like 300.

I think I have an original 8K tach. laying around here somewhere. It doesn't work though. If you are interested, I'll dig around and post a pic.
