Turns out the hoods from the rt is also bent up on front and full of putty :pullinghair:  So now need to find another straight hood.  I know 71+ would be alot more common, but what are the differences?  I know theses a breakway piece, but maybe it could be removed to look correct to a 70?  Thanks for any help!  Trying to keep as original as possible being a 70 rt u c-code car.

I believe that 70 and 71  hoods are the same except for the D-O-D-G-E emblems on the front.

Most '70 hoods do not have the crumple zones.

   :iagree:

Mine doesn't have that, but on the outside, who would know if it's a later year hood?  :dunno: I don't think this should be a big deal to look correct, but maybe I'm wrong. I have been wrong before.  :bricks1:

I agree mostly!  Not my car and we're trying to keep it as original appearing as we can.  But if thats the only difference, then should be ok.  I believe we're going with a goodmark hood.  By the time I find a nice solid straight original one, then strip and such Id probally have alot more into it, plusits going to have goodmark fenders.  So why not match it all up.

Thanks for the info and pics

I bought a goodmark hood and it looks great.I put it on the car to check fit but my hinges are screwed up and it wouldn't sit down in the back.It looked like it should fit fine.I haven't blocked it yet but it looks and feels perfect.

Thanks for the reply, pretty set on going with a new one.  The cost to fix the current hood and value as is would be a good bit more than a new one and wouldnt need much mud if any.
