Sounds awesome mate! Well, since we're basically twins, I call shotgun on the cop rims!!! :naughty: You have to go find something different now, thems the rules. :grinyes:  Yupe, I'll be making a few changes, my rear end is still way up in the air. All I know 100% is it will definitely have a Dana 60. The rest is undecided.

Body wise I'll be adding XV: Engine Compartment Brace, Laser Cut Sub-Frame Connectors, Mandrel Bent Lower Radiator Support/Front Frame Rail Connectors, Mandrel Bent Firewall to Shock Tower Braces and torque boxes to keep that body real rigid. I will be aiming at having 315 tyres in the back to help get some of the traction down and possibly a ladder-bar setup. The car will also get some light tinted windows 35% to keep it sinister. Lots of goodies - no money.

Hey! Come to think of it, you also have a White 70 Challenger R/T don't you!  :eek7: We are twins. :screwy:

Hey NZ,

I am using the Keisler TKO-600 with the 0.82 overdrive.  Tim mentioned that hemi's should cruise no lower than 2500 rpm as excessive valve train wear can occur, as less oil is sprayed across the components.  This was the biggest reason for the 0.82 over drive as opposed to the .64 option.

I realize that I have a potential problem as the TKO-600 is only rated to 650hp but I don't plan on racing the car and I also have the option of setting the max rpm's via the EFI to also limit hp.  If you are thinking of going with an auto tranny Tim mentioned that he has a supplier who builds bullet proof 727's.  I could probably get the name and number if you are interested.

Cheers!

Hey Dray, thanks once again for your input. I have a 727 in my Challenger and although it's a nice cruiser with some decent pep, the 'Cuda was always going to get a pistol grip stick shift. I'm dreaming of the day I can finally shift using a pistol grip and shift through the gears then back down listening to that engine brake only a manual seems to make. I also see that as my only concern, the TKO-600 rated at 650hp.

I've asked Tim Banning to try and keep the build to around 650hp and a tops mark of 700hp. I think it will be fine as long as I don't launch the car or dump the clutch at too high an rpm. I feel the trans will be fine or have no worries once under way. As they say, when you hook and the tyres bite, this is where all the energy is placed on the drivetrain/line. I'll just roll away then give it some death. What did Keisler say to you when you said it was going behind a 528ci Hemi LOL? :sly: :screwy: Anything about warranty void etc?

I am using the exact same Keisler transmission, TKO-600 with 0.82 final drive. Hopefully I can get 325/50 tyres to fit without mini-tubbing and with 3.55 (3.84) or 3.73 (4.03) I should be cruising at 2,500rpm around 68-70mph. I never knew that about Hemi engines so will take that into consideration, Tim knows his stuff so it pays to listen to what he has to say. So, does this or could this hurt the engine on long trips or can Hemi engines (heads) take that kind of sustained high rpm?

I'd be interested in hearing how those Tremac/Keisler's are holding up with 650 horses and not to mention the torque. With the traction bars and some sticky meats in the back you might be the test pilot  :22yikes:

If you ever get the chance to set up a set of Hemi heads it would give you a great idea as to why they are complicated. There are A LOT of parts to oil up! I could see the need for 2500 rpms!
