1970 Challenger R/T Restoration
« on: February 25, 2007 - 10:58:32 AM »
I am currently working on the restoration of my 1970 Challenger.  I bought this car back when I was in High School, and it set for some 20 odd years.  Luckily I was collecting parts over the years or I would never be able to afford the parts today.

I alos have a 70 and it is currently being done. I have the vinyl top as well but am thinking of getting rid of it and going with hardtop. What are you planning?

HemiOrange70 asked what my plans are, well I am taking it back to pretty much how it came.  It was a factory "U" code R/T car, with the SE trim, though it is not an R/T SE. I added the SixPack, and I am going to keep it triple black.  I bought the shaker about 20 years ago for about $125 for the hood, and bought most of the stuff I needed for it from the dealer, found the bubble for about $80, which ended up being the one that went with the hood.

Just about ready to flip her on her side to do the bottom.

Looking good, saw the pics and had to look twice, got a 70 rt on the rotisserre now and its in the same color etch primer.  Yours looks much straighter than this one, less rust too.

Crowbait, I built it myself.  I already had most of the steel, so it only cost me $60 and a spool of welding wire.
