Anyone else here have fabricated valve covers..... when I started my 499 yesterday the valvetrain seemed louder than normal
I wonder if its the new fabricated valve covers I put on cause they did have a hollow sound when I tapped on the before installing them .... anyone else running them notice this
and no the rockers are not hitting the top of the valve covers....

I ahve not used cover like that so I am not sure but even a solid cam without the insulation pad under the intake will increase the noise of the engine

They tend to be a little more tinny. But you shouldnt have much for noise really.

They likely have more interior area, so more resonance is possible. The sheet aluminum is also different in layout and composition than the cast aluminum of the standard MP units so it transmits the noise differntly as well.
