i found someone who does soda blasting and copied and pasted what was said in the beginning. This was his reply.

Hello Mike,

This guy is right about it being a mess if it is done dry. If blasted wet there is little air borne mess.

I do not blast (dry) in residential areas because of complaints.

The only time I would blast (wet) is if the car is stripped of all parts.

When complete the soda washes clean in water. I recommend the car is washed 3 times to remove any residue.

You could add vinegar to the solution if you like. Once the car is thoroughly rinsed it should be primed and painted as soon as possible.

Soda is the easiest media on the car and will not remove anodizing, etch glass or rubber. You also will not have sand or media rattling around in your frame or chassis for ever.

Call if you have any other questions.

Mike, Fremont, CA.

Thanks for all the feedback and opinions on this tread.  The point I want to get across is that there are some additional things you need to be aware of if you soda blast and it turned out to be alot more work for me than anticipated.  I would check with your paint/body guy before soad blasting just to make sure they are good with the process.  Because I had two shops turn me down because of the soda blast was reason enough to inform everyone here.  I've finished all my flash rust removal and found a body shop that will take on my paint job....so it's downhill from here...right?  :grinyes:
