I like how someone asked if he also had the Rad, or firewall numbers.  :nono:

This should be as illegal as selling your drivers license or any other specific identification.

I would not think selling the tag is illegal. Putting that tag on a car and then passing the car off as something it's not is.  :villagers:

If the VIN is attatched to the dash, and it is advertised as a part of the sale, it is illigeal. If it is never mentioned, nor shown, then it is a discretionary thing. i can understand that maybe the seller does not want to risk drilling it out if it's a good dash, but... (I don't condone it at all regardless) Selling VINS is illigal in most states. As Barry says, know the laws in your state before you purchase.

Yeah, I like the guy who asks about the cowl stamp and fender tag and rad support. Then the seller pies in with a HF letter stamping kit. Now that is one for the books.....

I reported that one.

This one too;

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-Dodge-Coronet-fender-tag-vin-tag-and-more_W0QQitemZ280104959706QQihZ018QQcategoryZ42611QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Quote from the auction;

"Up for auction is a fender tag, vin number tag, upper radiator support with stamped number and trunk piece that also has the stamped number that all match. I do not have the title for this. It is off from a 1969 Dodge Coronet 2-dr car. Here are the codes from the fender tag. G33 L31 M21 M33 R11 V1F F8 F8 H2G F8 A14 095102 E44 D31 WH23 F9G XXXXXX. Thanks for looking and check out my other auctions."
