Welocme to the site!

The EG5 looks like a factory typo for E55.

I = Built for International order.

The E VON prefix is for Export. If the car never left the US, it was likely ordered by a US serviceman from overseas for use on his return home.

Hi Alaskan_TA!

Thank you for the info -that all completely makes sense.  I have all of the documentation associated with the cuda, including the orange inspection sheet that was under the carpet when I pulled it out.  The sheet indicates that the car was inspected on March 27, 1972.  I also have the original paperwork from when the car was bought new in Arkansas.  The part I never understood was the car was bought NEW in Oct of 1973, so I wondered why the stretch of time between the time the car rolled off the line in MI to the time it was purchased?  It seems now maybe I have the answer.  Thank you again for the insight.

Thanks for the tip!!  Been hitting those bolts with penetrating oil each night this week, planning to yank the fan this afternoon -we'll see how it goes.

BTW, like that 'cuda!
