Sikkens paint over PPG DP90 ...Any Problems??

Can some of you paint experts out there tell me if you think that shooting Sikkens paint over a PPG primer would be a problem? I have seen other posts on other sites where people have had problems mixing brands of primer and paint. Is this a real issue or are these guys just loyal to a brand and listening to a sales rep.??

I have never sprayed sikkens so I can't say anything one way or another. With that said I have sprayed several other brands and ppg does lay the nicest. IMO. As far as problems I don't know. The best way to find out is to spray a valance or something small.

Unfortunately, I am not a 'paint expert' by any means, but that is exactly what is on my car...Sikkens over DP90. 

The bodyshop did sand off quite a bit of the DP, while doing the bodywork, and they touched it up with some Akzo-Nobel (Sikkens) primer, but the paint covered both primers the same.

Since my DP had been on the car for over a year (after media blasting), they did have to scuff and re-coat part of it...Apparently, you don't have long to cover the DP, once it is sprayed on there.

My car is painted with Sikkens products. My body shop guy said that there should be no problems painting on a primer from a diffrent brand.

Any paint manufacturers recommend thier conmplete system be used but I have used plenty of different brand primers,sealers and topcoats and never had a problem.
