Number 1 fuse?
« on: April 15, 2007 - 09:06:17 PM »
I have a short somewhere in my front harness, keep blowing fuses :crying:  But the fuse box only lists the fuse its blowing as "#1 fuse"  I looked through the shop service manual and nothing came from it.  Anyone know what all is powered through "Fuse 1"?

Your Sig says 71.  What color wires come out of that fuse?  Unclip the fuse panel, with the 2 clips and turn it over to see the colors.   What doesn't work when that fuse blows?

Is the correct amp fuse in the "fuse #1" slot?  If it is too low for the load, it will blow pretty quickly....    :cooldancing:

For what it's worth my '73 manual lists fuses in section 8, electrical, under specifications which is just before wiring diagrams. I would think that 71-73 are not very different. #1 fuse for the '73 is for brake warning lamp, oil pressure lamp(standard instruments), seat belt lamp, seat belt relay, and seat belt buzzer.
