I have for trade a 1969 Big Block 383.
I would like to trade it for a race ready Torqueflite 727 automatic transmission and stall converter, preferrably reverse manual valve body with an approx 3200 rpm range torque converter for my 440 big block. The 383 is a 1969 block, bored .030 over. Steel crank, stock rods with full floating wrist pins and ARP Wav-Loc bolts with 12.5 to 1 TRW forged dome pistons. The block has been painted in the lifter valley and crank area with Rustoleum industrial red paint on all of the non-machined areas. The crank is a stock steel crank turned .010" with a factory harmonic balancer. It has a high volume Melling oil pump (new) and a stock 6 quart oil pan with windage tray. The camshaft is an Ultra-Dyne 613 lift int/ex, duration @ 50" is 276 int/ex with a lobe separation of 108 and advertised duration of 309 int/ex. Springs shipped with the camshaft and with titanium retainers with 3/8" chrome moly pushrods. Isky ductile iron adjustable rocker arms. it has 906 cylinder heads with max porting with 2.14/1.81 valves. Chrome Mopar performance tall valve covers. Brass freeze plugs in the heads and block. Torker intake. This setup was in a '68 Dodge Dart that ran low 11's in the 1/4 mile, all throttle, no bottle. Tried it on a bottle one year it it ran mid 10's. It has been pulled, disassembled, inspected, freshened up and is ready to go!! This would make a good trade and I'm sure cost much more to build than a tranny setup for a moderate strip/street application would cost to build. If interested, you can call me at 757-305-8369 (cell) or email me at
mopar1968@netzero.net. I prefer a local trade. I live in Portsmouth, Va which is about 25 miles from VA Beach. If you are out of the area, and really interested, I am sure we can work something out!
