    Alloy housings

    Hey all

    My diff is in getting a rebuild and some new ratios and I could have sworn that it was a 742 however the mechanic has told me it's only a 741. I have a set of brand new 742 gears to use and I see Mopar is selling alloy 742 style housings.

    Are there any disadvantages to using an alloy housing in a street car?

    I can`t think of a reason the alloy housing would be bad , it is not a wear part

    Awesome. Just ordered a complete alloy diff center from Mancini. Can't wait for it to arrive! The alloy should look pretty trick with the powder coated housing.
