I thought about the model idea, too; that's one reason that I'm keeping hi-res scans of everything. most of the conversion seems pretty easy, but the quarters would take some radical reworking.

As far as the Diamante model goes since they have the '72-'74 style lights....

There is a model made by Testors of a yellow '72 Challenger street machine type car that comes with a custom bullet style nose car that fits on the front of the car.  Comes with a supercharged Hemi also.  This model, due to the custon nose cap, was my inspiration for a Diamante model.  Yah, those rear quarters and wing will take some figuring....

Sorry, I can't seem to find a pic anywhere, even Ebay. 

You can usually pick them up on ebay for less than $10 if there isn't a bidding war.  I got mine for $2.75, still in the wrapper.

Did they change the tail lights when they went to the Diamante design? I haven't seen a pic of the Diamante in a long time, so my memory of it is a little hazy.

I know the model you mean. At one point I was going to work up a Challenger Daytona based on it. So many ideas, so little time.

I always liked the Yellow Jacket version better then the Daimante.  I think if the Yellow Jacket had the later taillights it would be perfect.

Didn't they have this prototype or one that someone else had made a few years ago at Carlisle? Seems like I've seen it in person, but can't quite recall if I actually did or not. You'd think I would remember something like that, but maybe it was a dream.

That's very cool memorabilia!  Here's the real thing from Carlisle '04.

The quarters were pretty close, so those were the best photos given the space.  That was the same year the '05 Charger was shown and looked pretty cool, IMO.
