My freinds sold a 72 numbers matching charger. The guy who bought it accused him of false advertising claiming it was not a number matching car. My friend found him a date correct motor and everything was good. Today he got the motor that was in the charger and it reads as follows ID pad H 440
10 14 HP
Casting # 2536430-10
Date code 1-05-71
The vin number also matches. As far as we can tell this is the numbers matching motor. The buyer claims that it is a 1977 motor because of the dash 10 at end of the casting number. What does the dash 10 mean? From everything I read a 77 motor has a different casting number all together. Let me know your thought. I told my freind that I would make the guy jump through hoops for being difficult and makeing him shipping the date correct motor across the country when he had the numbers matching motor the whole time. By the way it was his engine builder that told him it was the wrong casting number.
Thanks
Todd
