I used to entertain in the mid seventies and 80's. I got a tatoo I had made by the tatoo artist named tramp. He played in the movie Evil kunevil. It is a star with a golden rainbow shining down on my guitar.  I was playing in a night club where the sons of silence were hangin out. Kinda like some kind of body guards. And they were very perswasive on me to get mine.  I was being showed how to play the song called the sandman by a member from the band called america. This was on the boardwalk in Jaxsonville beach fl, back in 1971 or so. Jimmy Buffet was running down A1A doing his thing and times were good. My ocean front apartment right on the beach was 25 bucks a week. Everything is very different in that area now. I got nothing but dreams.

I still have my martin d35 and write songs for my wife and kids sometimes.

I got my tatoo in Dallas, where tramps dungeon was at.

He had a girl on a wheel , spinning here in a circle while undressed, and one in a stock head rack with her head and hands being held in it and was telling me the tat is free if I can sit through the whole thing and not make a sound or smile at the girls.

So from back then till now, alls I play is america, eagles, neil young, led z, moody blues, uriah heep, rollin stones and all the other old stuff nobody really listens to anymore.
Sucks getting old and going blind. But I had a very fun interesting past to say the least.

6 dollar motels, 1.65 hr wages, 17 cent gas, life was good. ...Alan

I have some traditional sailor tats, sparrows ( yes I have the sea miles to earn them too), pig and chicken. I have a tree that is half dead and half alive, we used to go party out in a field under a tree that was struck by lightning and was full of life on one side and dead and creepy looking on the other.
All of them mean special things to me and remind me of good times.
Don't drink when you get one, it thins your blood and you bleed easier which creates a hinderance for the artist. After needling for a while it is typical for them to wipe the ink and blood away. The more blood, the more wiping, the more wiping the more irritation, the more pain. I like the feel of the needle, that is the addictive part. When they wipe your skin is the uncomfortable part.

a couple years back my wife started saying she really wanted a tatoo...I said no. :nono:
A few months later she thanked me...and again a few months later..... :smokin:

My wifes two sisters and both nieces all decides to get a tatoo at one time or another, now they have them all over the place.
It's almost like it's addictive. I made sure I let my wife know how I felt about them too.
Tatoos on guys are fine, it goes with the scars and engine grease under the fingernails  . I'm just not a fan of tatoos on women, too me it's like putting stickers on the side of an exotic car, it just takes away from it's natural beauty.

They are right when they say that they are addictive.  I have three.  I got them at important transitions in my life and I don't think that I'll ever be disappointed that I got them.  Cody, just get something that is important to you and you will be less likely to regret it.  Pick a strategic spot to put it depending on how visible you want it to be.  I can wear a short sleeve shirt and mine are all out of sight.

Today while I was shopping with my wife, I spotted a rather large lady with a tatoo on her upper arm, since I just got done reading this post, I decided to get a better look and see what it was. It said "100% B#TCH" with a picture of the head of a Bulldog underneath it.   :screwy:
She was with her husband and I'm sure it will make for some interesting conversations with her grandkids when she's a Grandma  :roflsmiley:

i have 2 of them. ill get pics posted of them at a leter date. my camera is in my truck and its gettin to be bed time very sooon. Cody, as stated before, make sure its somthing that you either like very much or that it has a strong meaning to you. the first one i got is of a tiger. i just really like tigers. the second one has a lot of meaning to me. its of an eagle and an angel on my chest with the words, IN MEMORY OF BRIAN JR.  just pick wisely because the pain may be temporary but the tattoo is forever. they really are addicting. its been a long time since i got any ink but the artist that did mine isnt inking anymore so i need to find somone i trust. also make sure that is the case when you pick your tat that you also trust the artist.
