Hello from Illinois......

I live close to Chicago Illinois. I currently own a 1971 Challenger that I am tearing apart to build a 1971 T/A edition.  It has a 318 with a 3 speed but I have recently purchased a 440 HP block and an a-833 4 speed.  Of course it won't be an exact replica of the one and only 71 T/A, because I will have a 440 and not a 340.  I have purchased all the new metal for the car, except I do need the front inner fenders. The drivers has a hole in it and would rather swap it out.  I look forward to this site and talking with all of you.

Welcome! and I agree that the Goodmark inners seem to be the closest to the 70 origionals.

Welcome to the site, Challenger71!   Do you happen to belong to the Chicagoland Mopar Connection car club?  I have a couple friends from around the southwest suburbs that belong to the club and I've been to a couple of their events.  Your plan for the '71 sounds very cool.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I will post pics as I make some progress. I figured who would want to see a trunk floor cut out, wouldn't you rather see it done? haha No, I do not belong to chicagoland mopar. I thought about joining, but with working full time on a fire department and owning my own body shop, plus spending time with my family, I will never be able to even go to any meetings.  Sorry, but I can't make it to Carlisle this year, I am saving all my money for Mopar Nationals in August. We'll talk to all of you soon.

I currently also live in DeKalb, have a 71 Challenger R/T, 69 Charger R/T SE and misc other muscle cars.  I work at the Napa in downtown, so shoot out there some time.  Ask for the "jolly" guy.  They will know who you mean.
