What gives? Buyer Beware!!
« on: May 04, 2007 - 07:25:47 PM »
As many of you know, I had a great 71 Gran Coupe that I sold in January.  :crying: Yep, I am regretting it a bit. Anyways, I decided to take a look around and see if by any chance I could find it and see if it was available. Just wanting to visit an old friend really. Well to my surprise, I find the picture of the car I took, but now the description on it shows it to be a #'s matching 71 AAR car. That's funny, it still says 383 on the side of it. There was a 383 in it when I sold it. I called the guy and he acted like he didnt know what's going on. He directs me to his website; www.crasfromyesterday.com. I go to that website and theres my car.....same ad!? I don't believe he has this car at all. It looks like someone downloaded the picture and then added their own description of a hypothetical car for sale. Has anyone had any business dealings with this company? It is also showing up on www.Autabuy.com with the same description.

Instead of warning him, go to the police. Maybe a detective will pose as a buyer and nab him so that he doesn't scam anyone. If you warn him, he'll just disappear for a while, then go right back to it again.

Its odd, but I recognize the big tree in the background of a lot of the pictures on his site. If he is legit, then he is a consigner. The assortment of background in the pictues are from totally different parts of the country. You have Arizona/California down to somewhere around Louisianna. Not knowing what he is actually selling is not all that unusual for a consigner. They are given pictures and descriptions and are basically working off the consignees word. Then you have the possibility that he is a THIEF.

Wow, thanks for the warning.  I too would go to the police if I were you instead of warning the guy.  I hate scammers, they ruin it for the good guys.   :villagers:
