You guys are hard on my bumperetts  :'(  My orig 'Cuda was a 74, the rustbuckets I have now are a 73 barracuda & a 74 'Cuda, both will have the bumperetts, I like em, I think they help make the car look longer & leaner & they do serve a good purpose being from NY & now living in jersey, many a ding in my bumpers were avoided by that extra rubber!  ;) Rich.

Man, you are definitely unique in those opinions.

Dare to be different! :clapping:

Yeah, I tried to like them, but after about the 50th time of bashing my knees on them while working on the car, I decided they had to go.

2 votes for the Bumperettes

I'm not saying they're perfect but definitly not a deal killer for me.  A more intergrated look would have been better but Mopar was done spending money on E-body designs by the end of '71 so we should be thankfull they built as many as they did.

I bet they could have saved the whole line if they had done a similar bumper deal like the '76 Firebird but it was not to be

Rusty Cuda - I'm sure the bumperettes work, but IMO they just don't complement the look of the front or the rear.

4Cruizin, Kingtroll - did you replace the rear bumperettes with 70-71 bumper guards? And on the front, you just removed the bumperettes altogether?

Thanks for all the comments!

I bought the car with the bumpers with the front bumber guards removed. The rear looks like the bumperettes were replaced as you say. (shine more than the bumper) I like the look without the bumperettes . This wasn't done by me but I approve.
