I had my Challenger chemically dip stripped. There aren't too many places doing it here in the west. Luck has it there's a place here in the Phoenix area. The cost was $1400 for everything including the dash and k-member. It get rid of everything including rust. All that's left is good metal. I'm biulding a NHRA Super Stocker and the chassic biulders like it to be dipped so it's better to weld on. Eric

Nice workshop!  I can only imagine how nice it would be to have that amount of space.  I've got a piddly single car garage.

Eric, I used to run SuperStock out here in Division 1 from 1975 to 1980 , then got smart and went to Stock Eliminator in 1981 to 2001. Had enough of all the BS with horsepower factoring and other things. I was thinking about buying your S/S Cuda as a roller. I heard Mike bought your car. Cool...
Did Kevin Nicks sell his yet? I'm  looking to buy mine back if I could talk him into it. The last time that car was out was 1989 , I drove it a the Keystone Nationals at Maple Grove.. It's a '71 340 SS/JA car.
Good Luck with your new racer.. As you know they took horsepower off the 383 combo. Looks pretty good. I think Don Little is running that combo in his Challenger..     Vin 1252

Vin,

Love to see you back in SS. Yes...the 383 is a really good combo. Mike did buy my car. Eric Jones @ CFO (the 1 that did my new engine) is building Mike's new 383. It should really fly. Eric Jones is the one that built Jerry Jenkins new Hemi. Don Little is a good friend of mine and does run the 383. He will in Boise this weekend trying to set the GT/FA record in his Challenger. I believe Kevin Nicks did sell his car. A guy in Iowa named Alex bought the motor out of it and was going to put it in the 70 Cuda he bought from Jenkins. But, he sold that car right after I sold mine. I'll send you pictures of my new car when and if I ever get it done. Hope to see you at the track. Eric

Did you buy that online? Or at a store? I'm interested in finding some myself.

I bought it on ebay. Good price too. Like $65 for 100lbs including shipping. Hope it does the trick!

That seems like a lot of money. I bought 200 lbs of the stuff for $30 at my local hardware store. Home depot might sell it?  :dunno:

Picked mine up today. They used something called k-star on the panels and sand on the underbody and rust spots. Started to flash rust immediately within hours. Pretty humid right now, been raining all last week. The K-star is done very similar to soda blasting, but is in the salt family somewhere and is chemically neutral PH, so no neutralizing or rinsing required. Spent a few hours blowing out the dust and it will get DP primed tomorrow. Time to start ordering lots of sheetmetal.
