I'm sorry nobody has responded yet, but you are the only one I know with a 71 Chally convertible.  :grinyes: Maybe it's all the same system with the 70 Chally's and Cuda's?? I really have NO idea. I hope someone chimes in here.

When you run your top, Does it move? It may be as simple as a hose or a bad cylinder on that side. Everything is accessible once the back seat and side panels are removed.

there   is a cylinder behind the interior 1/4 panel with a hose connected to the top & bottom of the cylinder , you could have a bad cylinder or line leaking

Cowboy, The socket/bulb mounts into the bottom of the rear side panels. Being a convertible there was no place to put a dome light. Also, you should have two of them, one on the right and one on the left
