Alternate front bucket seats
« on: May 18, 2007 - 12:21:48 PM »
Looking to 'update' the front buckets in my 73 cuda. Has anyone put a more current seat(ie;with lumbar support, ricarro style, etc) or say an after market seat from say Jeg's, Summit etc in their car. Pic's if you have appreciated. Are there current Chrysler seats that are a drop in?.......thx

I am putting in aftermarket seats in my 72 Chally....got my passenger side in the mail the other day.... I bought the PROCAR Sportsman seat...it is really nice for $150 and you can get the brackets for your car as well for another $50 .... :burnout:

I am having the upohlster add grey to the middle for a custom look and he is also matching it to the rear seat as well...

Lots of new cars have really nice supportive seats, so if you go look around the car dealerships you can get some ideas.  Otherwise, there are lots of aftermarket choices as well.  I would doubt any current Chrysler seats would just drop in without having to fabricate some brackets (the inboard seat bracket is about 1.5" high, while the outboard seat bracket is flat due to the E-body floorboards.

I'm putting Recaro seats from a late 70's BMW in mine.  I fabricated some mounts and used a universal type slider.  Here's some mock up pictures (I was trying to make sure I'm happy with the seating position and height, etc.).  I'm real happy with the seats... they are very supportive without looking too out of place in the car.
