How I did my door panels

This topic certainly seems to get everyone's attention.  I pressure washed em, and painted them with Satin Dover White Krylon Fusion paint.  Turned out sweet! 

First pics is old ones.  My cousin said they were in the puberty stages because they had developed some serious acne, lol.

Second is original panel, third is painted, 4th is installed.  Hope you like, cuz I sure do!

I will be getting some original fronts within the next few weeks.  I cant wait!

I painted a couple of old white door panels with that same plastic paint and really liked the color and had that nice feel. The panels were so chalky and missing so much detail that they looked fugly though. I bet it would really bring a decent set of panels back to life.

Did you need to put a plastic primer?  I used a vinyl paint by Plasticote and they needed a plastic primer for the paint to adhere properly.

Super Blue, I didnt use any primer.  I pressure washed them first, and I could tell there was some armor all on them, the water coming off had a white tint.  So I scrubbed them with a brush, pressure washed, and scrubbed and rinsed till I didnt see any white tint in the water anymore.  The paint claims after 7 days it is chip/crack free.  I noticed just a few hours afterwards it was nice and hard.  I even scratched it in an inconspicuous area, and it didnt peel off.  Im pretty satisfied thus far.

I read that the Krylon Fusion paint is specifically formulated for plastic, and that it doesn't require any type of primer. Looks like a good choice.

That's cool that it doesn't need a primer.  Plasticote does and I had to find out the hard way!!!!
