Latest Mopar Collector's Guide...
« on: June 01, 2007 - 06:49:16 PM »
has an article about a 71 Challenger Sixpack car. According to the article, the owner had his carbs re-built, replaced the stock bases with Pro Max units, tuned up his 440, and is now getting 18 mpg on the highway. How the heck is he doing that? I'm lucky to get 8 or 9 mpg with my Sixpack. Also, what the heck is a Pro Max base and what's the advantage of installing it? With the huge gas prices these days, and how thirsty my car is, I'd sure be interested in upping my mpg's.

Yeah, there is that, all right. I'll be the first to admit that I do have a somewhat heavy foot on that gas pedal, but let's face it, stomping on the gas pedal , hearing those outboards open up, leaving those twin smoke trails... man, what a rush!!

More than cool, it's very close to a religious experience, I think. I don't know about you, but I've noticed that the closer I get to 120mph, the nearer I feel to God :angelwings:
