In the process of getting a new vinyl top put on and I went down today to have them remove it. The next step is to have the body shop go over the surface areas and repair any rust or up coming oxidation. I went back down to pick up the car and they had cracked both sides of the windshield at the top. Of course they are going to replace it, but its always like one step forward and two back. Is there anything that I should look out for on the new windshield

That's a pretty normal problem though.  Anytime you start messing with the chrome trim, vinyl top or interior trim you run the risk of cracking the glass.  Basicly, anything that touches the glue.....
