Tips for getting a job?

I am putting feelers out for a new job and applied to a company that really sounded good but after sending my resume and a followup e-mail inquiring as to when they might be scheduling interviews I`ve had no response.Ad says no phone calls so other than an in-person visit what tips do you have for getting your foot in the door?

Knowing someone who works there and will give you a reccomendation.

It's true.

I once saw a survey that said something like 75% of the best jobs landed were by an inside referral of the company hiring.

Someone that can give you a helluva reference helps too. Most companies are doing backround and reference checks a gazillion times morethan they used too!

If theres nobody you know working there, talk right to the guy at the top of where your trying to get in   Hasn't worked for me yet, but then again, jobs I was looking for at the time were scarce!
