need help with pedals

how do you get the spring on the clutch pedal there has to be a easy way thanks

I usually pull the rubber bumper stop out then use a big craftsman screwdriver to pry it on there.  If that doesn't work, you can always pull the pedal assembly out to put it in.    I have a couple of sets laying around and ALWAYS have to tie the spring to the pedals or it just falls out.  With the pedals out, The floor isn't there to stop the pedal from releasing the spring.   I hope you don't have to go that far to get it in though.

Here are a few.  You'll notice that if the pedal moved far enough (without the floor)  the spring falls right off.

Herb McCandless said how to do it the easy way at the Power Tour bar-b-que put on by the Memphis Mopar Club June 7th.

Put the small end in a vise.
Pull the long end to the right and fill the left side with washers between the coils.
Pull the long end to the left and fill the right side with washers between the coils.
Put in enough washers to extend the spring long enough to go over the pedal pivot.
Pull out the washers.

No prying needed.   Herb is a Mopar God. I was lucky to stay at the same Hotel and caravan with him and his wife on the Power Tour.
