Goodmark panel primer?
« on: June 18, 2007 - 02:28:53 PM »
Does anyone know if the primer that comes on Goodmark panels needs to be removed before being painted or if it can just be painted over?
Is it "weld thru"?
Thanks!

I try and strip as much of it as I can, and then scuff up the rest, and then primer over it.

Scuff and paint. I think that's the whole idea of the electroetch primer they have on them.

I was told by my dad's cousin who does body work its just a coating so they don't rust in transit to your place.  I wouldn't chance it, strip them and re-prime, thats what I did
