Ebody clutch linkage + gear vendors overdrive
« on: August 25, 2007 - 09:36:50 PM »
Hello all i was wondering if anyone out there has photos, of the  correct zbar clutch linkage installed on an ebody.   Iam in the process of making things right on a 74 barracuda.   It had A body A833 transmission installed and iam rounding up the proper parts, longer tail housing, output shaft, rods, ect.  I plan on going with 1 7/8 tti headers and 3 inch exhaust in the new year so i want to make sure i get the clutch linkage right the first time.

My second question,  is there any one running a gear vendors over drive on a A833 in an ebody.  Iam interested hom much modification  is required to the floor tunnel.

Regards,

Otter

That definetly is a nice toy you got going there.  I hope you get it out of the shop soon and get to do some driving. There are a few photos of the gear vendors over drive installed.  But maybe i will give shane a call and see what kind of mods he did to the floor tunnel.   I will not be buying anything till the new year now so maybe i can get some info from you later on as to how you like it.  Thanks for the info!!

Chryco if you had a choice which way would you go?  Kiesler or go with a gearvendors on a A833?  Do you own your own shop out in Alberta?

well there are reasons to do & not to do both
I really hate dealing with Keisler too many lies / broken promoses & problems with the product , but it will fit better than trying to cut the tunnel to fit the GV , I feel the GV is a better product & will give you more gears as well though
No I do not have a shop , for4 the last 4 years I have done mobile work at customers places but now I am basically done , I cannot make enough $$ anymore here & the winters are too long with no work to survive , I cannot get into the US , so it either time to move to Panama or get a real job , right now I am basically homeless & living in Moms spare bedroom / couch

Albertas pretty busy right now iam sure you could make more money twisting wrenches in the oil patch and full time work.  but then again its pretty pricey out there for a house.  Is it not about $400,000 for a starter home in Calgary these days.  If it was me thou i would go a little bit farther south than Panama if i was heading south.  Lots of cute girls down there and you would be suprised of all  the old mopars in good shape in south america.

actually a lot of people I know are layed off right now due to the oil patch trying to choke down prices & with no certification it is not as easy as you think to get good paying work
yeah a starter house is over $400k right now

The pics don't show the entire bracket on the tranny side. It's just a ball type that screws into the transmission. I bought a z-bar rebuild kit and it came with the new 'ball' brackets and bushings/seals/clips/keeper spring.

most do not use a bracket on the engine side , is your combo small block or big block , I have seen the bracket used on some small block installs
