Gotcha.

At least w/the above picture(s), you have the vertical measurements and the hole diameter.  Side-to-side measurements easy; put it smack in the middle!

IIRC it is not in the middle.

Do you know where exactly it is then? :clueless: You seem to know where it doesn't go is all. :1zhelp:

If I knew where it went I would tell you, I may be wrong, it may go in the same position as the '70, but I don't think so.  That is why I answered the way I did.  For all I care mount it in the middle of the hood.

Oh OK, if you're not sure then you should make sure you make that clear. No need to get cheeky, it doesn't mean to much from a PC chair and is water off a ducks back to me. When you run the risk of ruining someones ride I think it pays to make sure you're 100% correct before you start saying "yes/no it doesn't go there".

The only pictures posted are from 1970 dashes and you were all set to drill, all I did was stop you from doing that.

I wouldn't even consider drilling a hole unless I had at least three examples of '71 dashes along with the fender tags to prove they were originals.

Funny, I didn't mention anywhere I was ready with drill in hand. I saved the photos, yes but I never do anything by halves or rush into anything. I was glad you mentioned it but then you say you're not 100% if it's correct or not and could careless if I drilled it on the hood, nice. I can't see how it would be any different but will look around at photos to check. You did clearly state it was in a different position in a 71 but you had no idea where, you see my point, no dramas.
