Hang in there and keep focused!  I know it can get frustrating at times, but when you are finally done you will be so proud of her!

I started to restore my T/A at age 24. My original goal was to be able to drive it on my 30th birthday. That was ten years ago.

Life gets in the way sometimes, but I have not given up on it.

Yo Trop, long time!

I have my own obstacles too. Work being a major one. My company is exploding in growth and with that my spare time is imploding. So my sixpack sits waiting on bodywork. Doesn't stop me from collecting parts like you, but hey, life's a beach especially when you have an overactive 3 year old and a little 1 month old, a demanding job (and wife!), and too little time to pass around. Funny, I don't remember time going by this fast when I was a kid!  :)

Don't give up. You have the hardest part pretty much done. Its just the waiting and ca$h infusion part that you have to keep plugging away at. Oh, and keep tabs on the body shop doing your car too!

Drop me a PM later on, k?

Well, lesee.

I started redoing my 67 Satellite in '93. It is about ready to fire up and will be drivable, but still has body work and paint to be done. I may sell this one before it is done just to free up money for some others.

I started the Aspen around the same time. It is done except for paint. Buyer already set up for this one once it is sprayed.

I've had the Challenger since '01, but I wouldn't say I'm really restoring it right now so much as trying to improving it. It will likely recieve all its upgrades and be driven a while before it goes down for any restoration and that won't happen until some of the others leave the nest.

I haven't even started on the 74 Satellite wagon, although all it going to get is paint and new wheels and tires. It needs new carpet and some interior work, but until my kids get older, I'm not going to worry about it.

My 73 Crew cab is at the point it only needs the bed replaced and painted to be done.

Hmmm, 14 years and I haven't finished a single one yet, but I'm close on a few. Hang in there man.

Thanks guys

Glad to know now that I'm not the only one paddling this restoration boat. It does get frustrating putting all the little pieces away not knowing when they might get put back on but your right ,it will be worth it in the end. The picture of the FC7 posted up is very close to the way mine will look when finished. The only difference is that mine will not have hood pins or an SE logo on the top and I have Magnum 500's Ain't she a beauty. My fever is back. :bananasmi It was just a momentary lapse in the program

I'm really hoping that I still have all the little pieces  :clueless:

My 71 Cuda has been in the paint shop for 10 months now. It should be done next month...( We'll see ).  I've packed up the shaker bubble in the basement next to all the other parts.. restored wiper motor, M/C, rim blow wheel and the Hemi motor and trans. I call the shop at least once a week to see how its going and then I go by every two weeks. The whole time the shop owner always tells me how much its going to be worth when its done and then says he's getting a lot of time into it and the cost might be going up a little.

I look at it is when its done its going to be nice. I have the vette which I enjoy driving and my other vehicles. Its going to sit in the garage more or less when its done so I can wait. Besides, if I get them mad they might paint it some weird color like Chevy orange or Ford blue.

Its the same for all of us and we all get impatient but one day it will be done and put some money aside while you wait.

Richard,

If you can somehow make it to Carlisle, I'll let you drive mine. Then you'll know why some people wait.  :naughty:

Took me and my dad 2 solid years of working on the car EVERY night to complete it.  About 4 months ago I got really bummed because it was in the body shop for a couple months and had lots of restored parts to put on it.  As soon as the car got back is was like a mad dash of parts flying, and 3 months later BAM, car was done and driving and worth every moment of sweat. Finish it up!

Ive had my cuda for 6 years, and have driven it a total of 6.3 miles in that timespan (all at a drag strip). Hopefully if work stays busy enough this summer i will have the cash to finally have it painted this fall, not to mention the motor is blown and the tranny is shot. If i havent given up yet, your sure as hell not allowed too!

I was in the same boat but now we're getting it bead blasted. Just keep plugging away at it and before you know it you'll be tooling around in a rare car. I'm not sure what you want yours to look like, but this is what mine is going to look like. http://www.amerikanaraba.com/index.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimagepopup&pid=599&fullsize=1 Sorry i dont know how to link
