Aluminum radiator
« on: June 20, 2007 - 08:52:00 PM »
Anyone know of a much better than stock 26" radiator for a challenger for under 600 bucks?  Got my timing set 99% perfect tonight( got me a timing light )  Although off subject from the title, all the instructions on the internet about tuning the distributor is exactly 180 degrees wrong.  Keeps telling you to turn them one way( it runs worse when it should run better when turned that way) you turn it the other way, and it runs fantastic. :screwy:  Anyhow...I was looking at the summit 3-core cross-flow aluminum one, anyone know if its any good?

I was looking at them this week.  The local speed shop recommended the Flexalite w/electric fans at around $600.  The BeCool's are alot more $$$.

In my 496 Cuda I bought a Howe aluminum radiator for around $250 5 years ago. Rarely goes above 180 degrees now.  I think Summit or JEGS carry them. Practically any aluminum radiator will work fine.

72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

This one is 24" for 299.00.  Might have to check to with Bill to see if the flanges make up for the other 2 inches.
