Sandblasting before?
« on: October 04, 2009 - 06:30:55 AM »
Is it recomended to sandblast the total car before starting to cut out the parts that are supposed to be
fixed? I guess moore will be visible after the sandblasting, at least that was the case with my charger. :eek4:

I would blast the spots that show rust and the classic E-body crunshy spots first.  Then after all welding has been done have the entire body blasted & primed...  :2cents:

well, I suppose any decent blaster will tell you to just blast all edges and strip the big flats . I think most important is that all hard to clean spots will be ready for welding after a little blast. Makes bodywork so much easier...

don’t use sand on the paint side (outside) of the body panels use a softer media of some kind.

Be very careful if you blast the roof, hood or other large flat areas. It's easy to ruin these areas by blasting. They can warp or be tiger striped from too much pressure or the wrong media.
