Barracuda is home with all panels in place and nicely painted.  Spent most of yesterday afternoon tryin to fit the rear bumper assembly without resorting to removing the valance (don't want to scratch it).  Can someone confirm either way whether I need to bite the bullet and remove the valance or whether others have been successful and I just have to keep trying?

Do yourself a favor, remove the valance. You'll probably end up scratching it otherwise. It will be FAR easier too.

The rear bumper with the brackets attached definitely doesn't fit past the valence, and if you put the brackets on the car first, the bumper bolts are nearly impossible to reach, so as MEK-D said, do yourself a favor...
Also, put multiple layers of masking tape on the ends of the bumpers, so if you do slip, they won't scratch anything.
