one piece trunk floor install

Is there a way to get the trunk floor in without removing the tail panel? what if I removed the rear cross member would that give me the room I need? I can not see how to get to all the spot welds without removing the quarter panels also. Any ideas suggestion on removing the tail panel on a 72 'Cuda?

In a word... no

A good idea might be to cut your one piece in half at the rear longitudinal (frame).  Install it and weld up the seem over the longitudinal so the welds can't be seen from the top or the bottom..

I scribed a line along the center of rear frame so that half the old trunk was still there, then cut notches in the new trunk section to spot weld it to both the rear frame and the old trunk.

Mine is rusted all the way back yo the tail panel in most spots, the trunk is the only area of the car that rusted out due to a hole in the Q-panel by the rear window.
