Not worried about numbers matching, just want a working wiper motor on my 70 barracuda. Right now it does not park. Did the jumper testing and it's something in the motor. Still need to remove it and double double check the grounds. For the cost of aftermarket 72 motors ($50) is it just a matter of opening up the linkage rod to accept the bigger shaft? I'd rather modify an aftermarket to work than send mine out to be restored at a cost of $200 or take a chance on a used one. Maybe even mix and match parts from one to the other? It's a fair weather driver so the wipers will only come on for inspections and the occasional rain when out on a cruise. If the 72 can't be made to work I may have to crack open mine with a service manual handy and see what I can see.
