I have a 70 440 HP engine with "8*11*69" as the cast date on the side and "F440 8 19 HP" stamped on the pad/boss on top. Does this sound about right for the difference in cast date and build date for that time of year? I'm trying to acquire a block closer to the build date of my 12-16-69 build date Challenger, and the ones I have come across but have not been able to acquire yet seem to have a longer time period between cast and build dates(10-31-69 cast for 12-4/5-69 build) Perhaps they were in less of a rush as the car demand lessened or the block supply increased later in the year? What's the general "rule of thumb" here! Thanks!
