Transblanket and Bellhousing. I have heard the term Scattersheild used for both the blanket and the bellhousing over the years. Most of the time people are refering to the blow proof bellhousing. It is a slang term. To the best of my knowledge there really isn't a part called a scattershield. I looked it up at Summit Racing and found there weren't any matches in their catalogue. Most of this stuff is for serious racing. I would hope that most wouldn't drop the clutch on their big block at 6,000 R.P.M. while driving around town. I used to but, I was once young and stupid. There is way to much traffic in my area to race on the street anymore. Other places may be different. The only safe way to do it is on the track. On the track is where you will break more things. Street tires with their lower traction will go up in smoke and act like a safety valve. On the track with slicks and low tire spin the drivetrain gets the brunt of the torque from the launch. That is when clutches and flywheels, etc. can break.
