gas tank

do the j bolts on the gas tank go in the front of the straps by the rear axle or to the back of the car by the valance panel

thanks i was afraid of that  i can't seam to get them into the slot in the rear any one have a pic thanks Larry

turn  1/8 around(angle in) put in at the top where the hole is bigger , then straghten  back & they will slide down...sorry no pic.

If you're using new J bolts... one thing I found when I installed my new tank was that the repro J bolts were no where near the same size as my originals were.

I had to do some fairly significant grinding on the heads on them to make 'em work.
