Messing with the gas cap
« on: July 02, 2007 - 07:10:58 PM »
I went a messed around with a gas cap I picked up recently.  It is a stainless steel piece from top to bottom, with a rubber seal/spring to seal it.  The bad part is that has a square/rectangle base that requires a little modification to the fender.  What do you think?

The tape is meant to show what the fender would look like with lines that follow the gas cap base.

Buy an original flip top. Leave that one for the Ford boys. They can use it on their next Eleanor project.

Get the original. I think you'll be sorry if you modify.

OK I'll go against the consensus ....just to be different....I just wouldn't recommend doing anything permanent to the car, maybe a custom trim ring could be fabbed to fit...aluminum works pretty easy.
