My 1970-1971 parts catalog calls out the following (only B & J parts listed)

The only power antenna callouts are for Chrysler and Imperial body codes

Manual 60" antenna package, 1970-71 B and J              2983171
Adapter and gasket Manual  B                             2983162
Adapter and gasket Manual  J                             2983164
Adapter and gasket, Antenna  1971  B and J               3501143
Body and cable, manual antenna, Trans Am  B and J        2926673
Body and cable, manual antenna, exc Trans Am  B and J    2983306
Gasket, antenna upper adapter mounting  B and J          2889935
Cap nut, antenna mounting  1970  B and J                 2926565
Mast, manual antenna, 76.5"   B and J                    2889934
Mast, manual antenna, 60"  B and J                       2998919
Cable, Extension, antenna, 1970 Trans Am  B and J        3501144
Cable, extension, antenna, 1971  B and J                 3501144
Collar, antenna mounting,  B and J                       2889917
Collar and clip, manual antenna  B and J                 2983242

Interesting how few differences are listed between 1970 and 1971.  I know the parts catalog is not the most definitive source for this kind of info, but for what its worth there it is.

The 31" mast is listed for 1971 P, D, C body codes only which does seem curious since, while mine is in storage so I can't measure it, I'm positive its less than 60" tall.

My Challenger R/T build date 8-69 had an AM radio and it AND my very first 70 Challenger in '77  each had telescoping Antennas.

Good luck on this one...........

I'd expect all AM radio's to have telescoping. It's only the FM that works best at 31".
Longer isn't better with FM, only AM.

What's B & J? body styles?

B and J were the model identifiers; B = Barracuda, J = Challenger.  Its the first character of the VIN also.

My '71 came with the AM radio in addition to its one-piece antenna mast.
