The sad part is that some of these cars will be sold and forgotten about... Then 5-10years later they will be coming up again and pawned off as the real thing... Scary stuff...

Do they add the torque boxes that convertibles had to the JH and BH cars that came without them? Or do they let you pay all that cash for a structurally unsound modification/

The only part that really scares me is this:

"The winning car will be transported to Las Vegas (in an enclosed car trailer) by Convertible Conversions  for the Mopars at the Strip Show on March 19, 20 & 21, 2004.  The car will be prepped at our shop and the process will begin at the Vegas show.  Owner of the car must be willing to have the car photographed for magazine coverage."

So in other words, you pay for the conversion and then they get to use your car for free to show off their handywork. Seems a bit shady to me...

But then again, I'd never cut up a perfectly good car to begin with anyways.  :P

the thing that gets me is they only hack up NICE cars, they dont do any cars that are already goners,,  if i had a cuda that the roof was all rusted out and was in dire need of some MAJOR  repairs anyhow. then why not, but to get out the sawzall on a nice car,  NO WAY and especially not for 10 G's

I really like rag tops, but there is no way I would cut up my '72 Challenger or my son in laws '73 Cuda.  But, I guess that is an individuals' choice.  It still seems almost sacreligious though.  As per an earlier comment, there is no way to put it back if you change your mind.   Ovmf

My opinion is the same as before....I think it is SO WRONG!  I just can't believe that they would do this to a perfectly good car.  A junker I can see...but like someone else mentioned it may be pawned off as the real thing like some people do with clones.  I also liked the comment that they will be driving up prices of 318's, especially REAL convertibles...like what I have. ;D

10 grand will put a hemi in....i would rather have that than somebody cut the roof off my car.....

they also say it's a downpayment so how much will it really cost 20-40 grand..or more.
for that price you should find a good car for that

HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST CANT SEE CUTTING A CAR THAT IS IN PERFECT SHAPE. like it was said earlier they are charging you whatever they want to get free publicity for their work. you pay enough to have that done to buy a original convertible that needs work just so they can get their name out and get paid to do their advertizing?!! :o i think if they are expecting somone to ask them to cut their car up they should do a lottery and get anyone that would want the conversion (why anyone would im not sure) done to their car and draw one lucky, not sure of that either, but draw a name and that is the car they do for free. let that be their advertizing.  ::)
