I don't think anyone is busting on you?But just trying to give the owner a heads up.
:iagree:  After following this post, it definately did not end the way I pictured.  Barry was just trying to give you information about the legality of the car.  I will tell you right now I bought a '68 Camaro and had that problem with the VIN.  Let me tell you, it was a HORRIBLE experience and now I am much more careful.  I am happy your buddy found an E-body.  Welcome to the club.  How did you know it wasn't a true R/T?

Also yes the latter was offered, if you look someone had recommended looking for the boxes

R/T's came with a performance engine with a 4 bbl. or 3 2 bbl. or 2 4 bbls.  340 in 71 only 383 440 and Hemi. The R/T had a heavy duty front and rear suspension package with a front sway bar.  The package was larger springs and torsion bars and few other things.  Disc brakes were optional. The R/T would have the power bulge hood or some type of performance hood.  The R/T had dual exhaust.  Not all R/T's had a dual exhaust pan and tips.  This was due to regulations in some states.  Not all R/T's had torque boxes.  These were frame support metal pieces.  The only way to know to truly if your car is originally an R/T is from the VIN. The body shells were the same.  In 30 years anything can be bolted onto a car.

the front yoke is too small (i have a # matching big block cuda convertable to compare it to) to be a r/t car   the reply about the info not being offered was toward barry  as a person of his caliber would had plenty to offer but fail to do so.... fact none oh his post said anything about how to tell what the car was as far if a r/t or not   for the ones that did provide info on the post in ? i thank you very much  now its time for the thread to be locked....  toplescuda
