You may want to check the O.D. of the torsion bars as well as the sway bar. They may be larger than standard.

Does a guy want remove the tags and check underneath them to see what is there? One tag could be painted the other not, that might give a hint to whether it is original or not. Could the printing on the bottom been added at one time?

Not trying to debunk this car just go through some scenarios out there.

realistically the Special Handling Car tag was to the right of the fender tag. The philips head screw shared betweent he two tags was the one that was painted. The other two were not. Could have been swapped when the car was painted in favor of the Special Handling Car tag....

I'm going to go with the "Black stripes on a black car" theory. My guess would be that some "special" line worker did the black-on-black cars, not just any old UAW wage slave.
