I do that all the time. To make it easier, go to an auto parts store (I got mine at Advance Auto), and buy a set of cable ends that have small tightening levers on them. That way you don't have to use a wrench. Just flip the levers to remove the cables, swap the batteries, put he cables back on, and push the levers to tighten. Really works well and saves a lot of time and hassle.
