Restoration sequencing Q - Qatrer P, Dutchman, Roof
« on: August 02, 2007 - 11:55:15 AM »
Just thought I would doube check on the sequencing of the re-assembly of my Challenger.

First thing is first- Assume the car is level & square, side to side, front to back

1-Roof skin
Using clamps, then Clekos, making sure that the roof skin is in position. It is now a bit tweaking from heat soak from welding/fabbing. Side to side, front to back positioning looks good, corners line up pretty good.

2-rear quarter
Quarter panel has been trimmed to allign to the door, doors close well and have relatively no sag. Panel needs some tweaking to get to it's final position.

3- remove decklid.

4-cut out old dutchman once panels are secured in place

5-Position Dutchman for final ass'y

6- re-fit decklid

As always - suggestions/comments would be welcome.

Best,

Dan

Wow, I would have figured someone would've sent a reply throughout the day.  Though I'm no professional and my response alone shouldn't solely be trusted, I'd say that seems like a correct order for those particular metal installations.  Mine only needed quarters, so I know what had to be done there.
