I know I'm a little late to the party on this one, but I have a nice story to share as a newbie.
My friend Chris had helped me out with a few $$ to get my Challenger on the road back in '94. As a partial payback, he got to drive it occasionally, as long as I was there, and he was careful. One particularly warm summer evening, the kid at the Sunoco begged for a burn-out. The gas station was at the corner of an intersection, so my buddy eased 'er onto the road, and since the cars behind us were all stopped at the red, he dropped the slap-stik into 1st, mashed the go-pedal, and up-shifted the way I had taught him. The new tires left about 40 feet of rubber, and a billow of smoke, as we rocketed down the street. (Merivale Road in Ottawa) as we slowed up, the cruiser, lights a-flashin roared up, mad as heck. Turns out, he was the FIRST car at the red light that he peeled away in front of
!!!
Since we got away before he could tag a radar reading, my bud got a $120 ticket for "unnecessary noise".
I'd have to say that in the 4 blocks it took the cop to catch up, we hit around 130 KpH (in a 60 zone)
anyhoo, just thouht I'd share.
