i will have to do all of this on saturday. the 2.5 is just off the decal on the drivers side inner fender.

i did increase the timing to 8 btdc and it didnt make any difference, maybe 12 will.

Ignore the decal. This engine is rebuilt, and has a bigger cam now. The stock specs no longer apply.  :grinno:

When I set the timing I usually advance it until the spark knocks, then slowly back it off until it stops.

ok, i guess it will save me in the long run over a couple of dollars right now. it did deisle a little sometimes with premium though, only like the first tank after changing between reg to prem. any more ideas?

When ever you are changing from reg. to prem. it will take atleast 2 tank fulls to get the octane back up unless you completely empty the tank of regular.
